Emily's Army

So I've been writing a full one post about how awesome Joey Armstrong is.
So I'm starting to listen to his band: Emily's Army.
Well, honestly, I don't want to like the band just because Joey is in there. So when I listen to their songs, I try to be realistic and judge them like they are a regular band, without a hot drummer (that's kinda pathetic, isn't it??)

I found out that it was great!!
Except in some of the songs the vocalist sounds like a 10 year old kid.
My favourite tracks is: You're Not Superior, FWord and Staying Home.

And the best part about this band is, that they keep low profile, and accept haters with smile. My favourite way to dealing with bullies.

In their blog, they post the message that the hater send to them, when i read that, it is just like what I expected:

I heard about this band. Everyone saying how good you guys were. OH MY GOD! This is a joke! You SUCK! The whole album, not one song was worth listening to. Only reason people are feeding you this bullshit, is because you drummer being Joey Armstrong. They don't love you or even like you, are they deaf? They love the fact that Billie Joe Armstrong's son is in this band. Thats it. He isn't even that good. So now you guys think your all that, but really all you have is his dads fans. Another way to obsess over Green Day and the lead singer. But guys, listen to yourself. You do suck. I thought my ears were going to bleed. I never seen such a bunch of kids make a total ass of themself. No talent at all. Singer really sucks. The group together is even worse. I'm a huge Green Day fan, but this is a joke by far. Goes to show how stupid people really are. And say things just to get closer to the one they really want. Do the public a favor and break up!

One of the consequences of having a Famous Musician's Son in your band is shown above.
And this is what they wrote as a reply:

sorry if you dont like burn apollo its just like a little recording on garageband hahaha but yeah its for this person i know.
anyways, we got our first hate mail its soooooooo hilarious the lady was totally dissing us and then i replied with just a smiley face. whatever though she can hate us if she wants its not like we care hahahaha shes like an old person too.

Look how optimistic they are.
I'm amazed at how patient they are. Maybe they'd expected this, so when this come they had prepared.
After reading this post, I re-listened to every songs they had, and I start to feel the energy of them that they sing in every lyrics of their songs. (Okay, that's too much, I guess!!)

Anyway, at first I was wondering how can they came up with the name of 'Emily's Army'.
I thought it was the name of their former girlfriend (or present girlfriend!!!!)
But this post answered my question:

....you see, cole and i have a cousin named Emily Daskas, and she's probably one of the most talented girls in the world. she is a national dance champion that protrudes from the vast number of 13 year old female dancers, this is because she suffers from a disease called cystic fibrosis which according to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation (CFF):
"is an inherited chronic disease that affects the lungs and digestive system of about 30,000 children and adults in the United States (70,000 worldwide). A defective gene and its protein product cause the body to produce unusually thick, sticky mucus that:clogs the lungs and leads to life-threatening lung infections; andobstructs the pancreas and stops natural enzymes from helping the body break down and absorb food.
i know, its pretty crazy. anyways, her foundation is called EMILY"S ARMY, and my mom is one of the the people in charge, so we decided: Why not call ourselves Emily's Army? It's a rad name and it could also raise Cystic fibrosis awareness!!! so for the last year (and hopefully forever) we have been, are, and will be Emily's Army!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SIXTY FIVE ROSES!!!!

Ok, I guess that's enough about the band.
